Three Most Frequent Dental Implant Myths

· Dentist,Dental care,Anaheim Hills

Dental implants have been in use for more than forty years! Even though they’re very common these days, there’re 3 myths that I frequently heard from most of the patients come to me. These 3 myths are:

  • Dental implants are aching
  • Dental implants are costly
  • Dental implants require a long time to be executed

Let’s check out all these 3 myths one by one.

Dental implants are aching:

Not very much true! In my 10 years of experience in fixing dental implants, the majority of my patient says, “the process was much easier than their imagination.

Well, there’re three things that’ll forecast whether this method will hurt or not. The ease or complexity of your situation comes first. The 2nd aspect is your capability to recover well. And in 3rd, the skills & experience of your implant dentist.

Pain shouldn’t be an aspect in your judgment making practice. Pick the treatment that’ll offer you the best outcome.

Dental implants are costly:

Absolutely incorrect! Dental implants don’t cost more than a typical three tooth bridge. In my clinic, the price is almost the same. The long term expenditure of having a dental implant against a tooth bridge is much economical, since a dental bridge will be substituted every seven to fifteen years. However, your dental implant will most unlikely to be substituted.

If you’ve a bridge, your neighboring teeth will be permanently ground down into small nubs. This aspect alone is worth it.

Dental implants require a long time to be executed:

Not true at all! Having a dental implant generally requires 2 to four months on usual. A tooth bridge requires 3 to six weeks.

It’s a temporary forfeit for a long-term gain!

Bone by character, requires sometimes to recover. Have you ever wrecked a bone and had to put on a cast? I am certain you had to put on it for many weeks. The bone about a newly positioned implant has to recover, jut the same as the bones in your limb would have to.

A bone graft – may or mayn’t broaden the volume of time it requires for recovering.
